Emerald Lake
Toad Lake

Emerald (Toad) Lake

The Emerald Lake community is located on Squalicum Mountain, just east of Bellingham. Emerald Lake, also known as Toad Lake, is a small, 29-acre (WDFW) lake nestled high up on Squalicum Mountain. The lake is surrounded by trees and has limited public access giving it a rural feel just minutes away from I-5 and downtown Bellingham.

Emerald Lake is great for rowing, paddling, swimming and fishing (no motor boats allowed). The lake is stocked with rainbow trout and kokanee fry by the WDFW. Waterfront home enjoy easy access to the water and there are two "community only" lake access points for Emerald Lake Property Owners Association members. There is no public access to the lake from Emerald Lake Way.

On the western hillside of Squalicum Mountain many homes enjoy full or partial views of the City, Bellingham Bay and the Islands to the west.
